Sajeel A. Chowdhary MD

Dr. Sajeel A. Chowdhary is an esteemed neuro-oncologist and the Director of Translational Research/Neuro-Oncology with the Cancer Institute at Tampa General Hospital who takes a multidisciplinary/multi-modality approach to delivering world-class care. He returns to Tampa General, where he was a staff neuro-oncologist and neurologist from 2004–2009. He was also an Assistant Professor of Neuro-Oncology and Neurology at the Moffitt Cancer Center and the University of South Florida (USF) between 2004 – 2009.

Before re-joining Tampa General Hospital, Dr. Chowdhary served as the Director of Medical Neuro-Oncology at the Marcus Neuroscience Institute and Director of Medical Neuro-Oncology and Neurology at both the Marcus Neuroscience Institute and the Lynn Cancer Institute from 2015 - 2023 in Boca Raton, Florida.

Earlier in his career, he was also the Program Director of Neuro-Oncology and Neurology at AdventHealth Cancer Institute and an Associate Professor of Neuro-Oncology and Neurology at the University of Central Florida (UCF) in Orlando from 2009–2015.

Since 2015, Dr. Chowdhary has been a Professor of Neuro-Oncology and Neurology at the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine/Florida Atlantic University (FAU) in Boca Raton. Dr. Chowdhary has guided over 30 clinical trials focused on GBM and other brain cancers. He has been cited in numerous peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, editorials, and manuscripts. A five-time Castle Connolly Top Doctor award winner, Dr. Chowdhary is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Neurology, the Society for Neuro-Oncology, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Brain Tumor Association, the Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology, and the NRG Oncology Clinical Trials network.
