Dr Lucila Ramiro has been a board-certified primary care physician/internist at the Tampa General Hospital Family Care Center Kennedy since 1995. She completed her internal medicine residency at St. Luke's Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio in 1994. She joined Tampa General Hospital right after her training.
Her practice now focuses on ambulatory outpatient care. She has extensive experience in most aspects of adult care but her special interest lies in chronic disease states such as diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, osteoporosis, cardiovascular diseases and respiratory illnesses. Since 2006, she has been recognized by the American Diabetes Association/National Committee on Quality Assurance for Quality Diabetes Care. Her interest on women’s bone health has inspired her to take additional courses in osteoporosis. She has been a certified clinical densinometrist since 2007 and is currently a national speaker on osteoporosis.
Since she started her practice, she has served as advisor, speaker or consultant to different medical groups and pharmaceutical companies including Healthease Florida Medicaid, Florida Medical Quality Assurance Inc, Academy for Healthcare Education, KePRO South, Eli Lilly, and Takeda Pharmaceuticals, to name a few. She has had the honor to be included in The Best Doctors in America since 2009. She also enjoys her role as an assistant clinical professor of medicine for the University of South Florida since 1999. Dr. Ramiro is a member of the American College of Physicians, American Diabetes Association and National Osteoporosis Foundation.
