Anastasios Mavrakis MD
Dr. Anastasios Mavrakis is a board-certified internal medicine physician who has practiced medicine in Greece, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, California, and Florida since 1999. Prior to joining Tampa General Medical Group, Dr. Mavrakis served as a primary care physician for more than four years in the Division of Internal Medicine in Tufts University School of Medicine at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Boston. During that time, he was also a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine. Dr. Mavrakis has provided health care education to military units, medical students, residents, colleagues and communities in several locations throughout his career.
Dr. Mavrakis earned his medical degree from the University of Athens School of Health Sciences in Greece. He is credited with several publications, abstracts and presentations in areas of his expertise. Dr. Mavrakis has been a member of numerous professional societies, including the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases. He is fluent in English, Spanish, Greek, French, German, and is conversational in Turkish.
Dr. Mavrakis has over 20 years of clinical experience in different patient settings, treating highly complex clinical cases. He provides comprehensive care with attention to detail. He believes in personalized medicine, taking care of the needs of each patient in a holistic approach.
