Joseph Sujka MD

Joseph Sujka MD FACS is a fellowship-trained, board-certified general surgeon at the University of South Florida. Dr. Sujka is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the USF Morsani College of Medicine. Within the GI Surgery division, Dr. Sujka specializes in Gastroparesis and Minimally invasive surgery. Dr. Sujka’s goal is for his patients to feel truly heard and to know that he will do the best he can to help them. He received his medical degree from St. George’s University and completed his surgical residency at Orlando Health. Afterwards he completed fellowship at the University of South Florida in Bariatric, Foregut, and Minimally Invasive Surgery.

Dr. Sujka also serves as the surgical clerkship director for the University of South Florida medical school. He is passionate about teaching not only students but also residents and fellows. He has published over 60 papers and is involved in multiple surgical societies including SAGES, AFS, ACS, and many more. His research interests are mainly focused on gastroparesis and improving the quality of life of these patients.
