Dr. Meyer is a board-certified general and thoracic surgeon specializing in minimally invasive robotic techniques for the treatment of intrathoracic disease. He received his bachelor’s degree in biology and graduated valedictorian from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC. Dr. Meyer continued to medical school at Rutgers – Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, NJ. He completed his general surgery residency at George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, DC, and his cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Tucson, AZ. Dr. Meyer treats multiple complex conditions, including benign and malignant lung, esophagus, mediastinum, chest wall, and diaphragm diseases. Dr. Meyer has presented at national and international conferences and is an author of numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters. He is a co-editor of the textbook of Robotic Surgery, which was published in 2021. Dr. Meyer is chief of staff at Wellington Regional Medical Center and helped initiate a lung cancer screening program there. He is a strong asset to the community, lecturing on the importance of smoking cessation and early detection of lung cancer.
