Charles E. Sanders, M.D., served as a faculty member at the University of Alabama, Birmingham. He received his nephrology training at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and completed his transplant fellowship at the University of Alabama, Birmingham. Dr. Sanders is a transplant nephrologist with additional experience and qualifications in liver transplantation medicine. He is board certified in internal medicine and nephrology. Dr. Sanders has a particular interest in transplant immunosuppressive management, pharmacological research, and chronic allograft dysfunction. He is a clinical assistant professor of medicine at the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine. Dr. Sanders is a member of numerous professional and scientific societies including the American College of Physicians, the International Society of Nephrology, and the American Society of Nephrology, to mention a few. He is also a member of the National Kidney Foundation. He has had articles published in many journals including Transplantation, American Journal of Kidney Disease, and The Journal of the Florida Medical Association. His abstracts have been presented to the American Society of Transplant Physicians, the American Society of Nephrology, and the Southeastern Organ Procurement Foundation.
